Frequently Asked Questions
You will undoubtedly have many questions that may not be answered here.
I am happy to answer any additional questions in our initial Discovery Call, which is free!
What is the role of a Life Coach?
As an ICF Certified coach I provide support to you in navigating a significant life change and/or shedding light on a particular life situation. I will partner with you to reflect on present and future events and situations in order to help you gain insight and perspective on limiting beliefs and patterns that may be standing in your way of making decisions, of making progress in certain areas of your life, or in feeling content with the life you have. Coaching is NOT the same as therapy, it is a partnering and it has a present and future focus. Coaching is growth oriented. We are not tryiing to fix or change you, but to help you become more of your true self. The attention is always on you and YOU decide what will be focused on in your coaching sessions and how you want to move forward.
What is an ICF Certified Coach?

A credentialed coach has met the requirements set out by a governing body in order to earn their accreditation. I have met the requirement of the Canadian Coach Academy and ICF (International Coaching Federation). These requirements include education, minimum hours of coaching experience, mentoring and performance evaluation through the Canadian Coach Academy (an ICF Accredited Program) and testing and adhering to a strict code of ethics, including confidentiality through the ICF Accreditation Process.
What is the role of a Compassionate Companion?
My role as a Compassionate Companion is to be an empathetic listener. This space is explicitly for you and all about you. There is no judgement or fixing, just presence. What's on your mind? What's on your heart that needs to be expressed, that perhaps you can't safely express with family or friends?
How you can get started working with me.
If you decide that you would like to find out more about how Life Coaching may help you, click on the Discovery Call link on the Services page and set up a time to chat with me. This is a free 30-minute session with absolutely no pressure. We will discuss what you have going on in your life right now and whether coaching is a fit for you. You may already know exactly what you want to focus on. If that's the case, feel free to make a few notes about the main points you want to discuss in our Discovery Call, as well as any general questions you may have. Once you book the Discovery Call I will send you a very short form to fill out and return which will help us both to prepare for our call. If you don't want to make a list or fill out forms, that's perfectly ok too!
If you decide that Compassionate Companion Services is more suited to your needs, or that of a family or friend, we can also set up a free 30-minute call to discuss.
